O-rings have become very common seals in the industry over the years, due to their simple shape, availability, and the vast selection of sizes, materials, and compounds in which they can be supplied, along with their low price for some materials. O-rings seal by being compressed between two or more elements in the sealing groove structure. During compression, the pressure on them causes deformation and increases the sealing efficiency.

X-Rings, also known as Quad Rings©, are similar to O-rings, but their cross-sectional profile is shaped like an "X". When installed, X-Rings seal with four contact surfaces, whereas O-rings seal with a single, larger contact surface. This feature provides the X-Ring with double the sealing area of a standard O-ring. X-Rings are commonly used in dynamic applications, where they help reduce friction during operation and at the start of movement (breakout), and they also lower the risk of spiraling failure compared to O-rings.

An oil seal is designed to prevent the leakage of oils, grease, water, chemicals, and lubricants.

Oil seals are built to endure extreme temperatures, maintaining their sealing effectiveness under challenging conditions.

Tereefek Solutions can offer a wide selection of oil seals made from materials such as FKM, and NBR. We provide various types, including single or double lips, with optional springs and cases made from stainless steel or rubber-coated metal.

A back-up ring is a rigid ring that holds an elastomeric seal in its designed shape and keeps it in the correct position. Back-up rings are not seals by themselves, but they are commonly used in combination with O-rings, lip seals, and dynamic shaft seals. They prevent seals from escaping through gaps when pressure is applied. In many cases, it is recommended to use two backup rings installed above and below the sealing ring for additional protection.

Bonded seals, sometimes referred to as Dowty washers or Usit rings, provide a quick and effective static-sealing solution for bolt heads, nuts, screw couplings, and flange connections. They prevent leaks of liquids or gases within your system and are often used in hydraulic systems. Due to their metal outer ring, bonded seals are particularly suitable for high-pressure applications.

Tereefek Solutions can supply rubber sheets and stamped parts from various elastomers. Elastomers such as NBR, EPDM and CR are materials widely used in machine construction and engineering. In addition, we can supply Viton® and Silicon which are used in the chemical and food industries.

A cord is a continuous elastomeric material with a round cross-section used to create O-rings, sold by the meter.
