Food
The modern food processing industry is vast and diverse. At every stage in the process of converting raw materials into finished food products, a wide range of processing methods and machines are employed. These methods and machines generally use a variety of rubber materials and products.
Solutions
Tereefek Solutions can supply numerous products for the food processing industry, these include (but are not limited to):
A wide range of elastomers (silicone, EPDM, Nitrile Rubber (NBR), etc.) in various hardness grades
A wide variety of standard and non-standard O-rings
Seals made from various materials that have:
Resistance to grease, oils, water, alcohol, acids, and/or bases
Chemical inertness
Resistance to chemicals used in industrial cleaning and sterilization
Resistance to steam sterilization
Stability under extreme temperature conditions
Composite material linked rubber seals
Requirements of the Food Industry
Many processes in food production involve exposure to extreme high or low temperatures, high or low pressure, suction, and/or exposure to potentially reactive compounds such as oils, fats, acids, and bases. Rubber parts used in the food industry need to withstand aggressive cleaning and sanitation processes and materials. Furthermore, rubber parts must be resistant to bacterial growth, both in the composition of the materials and in product design. Each of the mechanical, chemical, thermal, and hygiene processes presents independent challenges in the design of rubber parts that are best suited for each of the processes. Each process, along with the relevant environmental variables, will determine the most suitable types of rubber components for each specific situation.
We can manufacture with our partners custom compression seals based on food-contact-approved materials. We can design custom solutions using various manufacturing technologies suitable for food applications. Whether you are creating a new design or redesigning existing technologies, Tereefek Solutions can collaborate with you from the idea stage, through prototyping, to production with very short lead times.
